Dave Archer president/CEO of NCE recently wrote an article featuring PacStates in the Reno Gazette journal.
“In this Article Dave writes Northern “Nevada is one of the premier locations in the United States for business and the development of new services and technologies. In the digital age, connectivity is essential for all businesses. At the end of the day, technology just needs to work, and PacStates works 24/7 to make that happen.
After more than 30 years of
business, this locally founded company has seen the technology needs of
Northern Nevada’s businesses and community change. Through that
evolution, the company has ensured its clients have the highest quality
business communications tools and infrastructure available.
Tim and Patti Madden founded the company as Pacific States Communications in 1986.
Then in 2006, Patti took over as president, and Michael Buis became CEO of the company. In 2016, Buis was named a partner in the company. Together, Patti and Michael lead PacStates, upholding and strengthening the company’s core values and fundamentals.
n 2018, the company recently underwent a rebranding
and created an IT support division to provide managed business
technology and telecommunication services.
“Ever
since we introduced voice-over-IP premise systems in 2002, we’ve been
asked by our clients to take on IT projects and support,” Buis said.
“Now, we are in a position to provide 24/7 desktop and server monitoring
and support. So, we rebranded 18 months ago to reflect our full line of
services better.”
Now,
PacStates offers business phones and services, including premise VoIP,
cloud VoIP services, contact center and legacy systems support. Another
line of PacStates services is cabling and network infrastructure,
including full-service network infrastructure design and installation.
For IT managed services, PacStates provides 24/7 IT support for all of
an organization’s network and communications systems. PacStates also
offers carrier services and will coordinate with internet providers to
save its customers frustration and expense.
At the core of the company is its values.
“Everything we’ve done is around our company culture,”
Buis said. “Our vision for the company is empowering people, companies,
and communities. We believe integrity matters.”
The company’s culture also places a high value on philanthropy and community involvement.
“We’re very community-oriented,” Buis said. “Giving back to the community has always been at the heart of PacStates’ work.”
The company actively supports the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, the Reno Rodeo, the Better Business Bureau, the Great Reno Balloon Race and the Miss Reno, Sparks, Washoe County Scholarship Program. Employees are also encouraged to participate in organizations of their choice individually.”
